How long have you been around?
We opened on July 1st, 2010 in a small space in Lowell, MA and after a successful year there, we moved to a 6,000 sq. ft. historical foundry building in Nashua, NH.  In 2015, we decided to move again after outgrowing that space.  We spent six months renovating a portion of the 20,000 sq. ft. former Armstrong Cabinet building just down the street, and were moved in by March, 2016.

Can I come visit?
Sure! Come to an Open House, every Thursday 6-9pm. Just stop by and introduce yourself.  We are not open to the general public outside of open house nights without a prior appointment, so please contact us to make other arrangements if necessary.

Who works here?
We have no paid staff.   Instead, the space is operated and maintained entirely by passionate volunteers.  MakeIt Labs has always operated as a non-profit organization.  Initially we operated under a parent organization for simplicity, but we achieved our own 501(c)(3) status in 2015.

What tools and equipment do you have?
We're constantly growing and adding new tools.  Check out each of our resource pages, or stop by for a tour during Open House.

I don't know how to do something, will you teach me?
Yes!  Most of our advanced equipment requires at minimum mandatory safety training classes, which we offer on a regular basis.  Some equipment requires extensive training before you can use it.  In most cases, once you are trained on the basics, our members are happy to share their knowledge and offer guidance for your project.

Do you offer formal classes?
Yes!  In addition to safety training for equipment, we offer classes on a variety of fascinating subjects.  We also encourage our members to teach classes if they have an area of expertise.  Instructors set the content, schedule, and costs, and we provide the facilities and promotion.  Check out the upcoming events and classes on our Eventbrite page.

What does membership get me?
Membership is required for building and equipment access.  We offer different levels of membership to suit the needs of our members.  See the Membership page for details.

What are the operating hours?
All members get the benefit of 24/7 access.  Members are given an RFID access token so that they can come and go as they please.  Note that certain areas or equipment may be unavailable during scheduled classes or events.

How much does this cost?
We offer several membership options to fit your budget.   Please see the Membership page for full details.

How do I join?
